Stealing Our Votes

I have been approached and reprimanded by friends and family members of both parties, republicans and democrats, who believe that I will take enough votes from their side and allow the other side to win. This is half true. It is my intention to get votes from both sides, plus those independents out there, and win. That is the plan. Let me be clear, I will take votes from both sides, not to upset the vote for the opposition, but to win outright. That is the plan.

On a side note though, I would like to point out that I speak to my democrat and republican friends and family. I do not have the baggage these party members have to carry through no fault of their own. How many times have you heard that the two sides do not speak to each other? How many times have you heard, or even said yourself, "I can't speak to them, they're a democrat/republican"? Sometimes we hear that a politician is punished for speaking to the other side. This is ridiculous, our politicians have to speak to each other. They have to understand each other. Instead they vilify each other. They speak of each other as if they are the enemy, an evil to be feared. We should not fear one another. We should not vilify one another. Disagreements are good, they lead to discussion, understanding, and compromise. Making each other out to be enemy is why we are in such a divisive environment. And it's why I'm going to win, because I'm not here to divide, just to represent the people of my district regardless of political affiliation.
